First time challengers
Please read below!
Unlike most church and religious organizations, we consider a challenge
a good thing. We understand that a lot of good things can come from
disputing the scriptures or the Apostle Paul would have avoided the
situation at all costs. Just about everyone disagrees on one subject
or another, especially when it comes to the Holy Scriptures.
Now our goal in accepting a challenge is to eventually become of the
same mind and of the same judgment and not having any divisions among
us. In 1st Corinthians 1 it says,
"10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no
divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the
same mind and in the same judgment."
But there is a problem of trying to come to the same mind and the same
judgment. We have found that different versions of the bible say different
things and there is no possible way to get them to match. For instance
in Galatians 2:16 in the King James it talks about being justified by
the faith OF Christ whereas in the NIV it talks about being justified
by faith IN Christ. These bibles have two different meanings of the
same verse, therefore they will never match. In any challenge here at
Grace Bible Study the final authority will be the King James Bible.
All of our teachings are based upon the King James Bible therefore all
challengers must use the King James Bible.
When the Apostle Paul was given the Gospel of the Grace of God he had
a very long and hard road ahead of him. He was told to preach the gospel
to the Jew first and also to the Gentile. The problem with this was
that the Jews knew only of the teachings of the Law and the Gentiles
were into all kinds of different idol worship. Many people disagreed
with Paul’s teachings and he had to dispute and reason the scriptures
with them to get them to understand.
In Acts chapter 19, Paul came into the city of Ephesus. Starting in
verse 8 it says,
8. And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
9. But when divers were hardened, and believed not but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the deciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
10. And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. |
So here at Grace Bible Study we realize that sometimes you have to dispute the word of God to help people come to a better understanding of the word of God. As people disagreed with the teachings of the Apostle Paul almost 2000 years ago, people still disagree with his teachings now.
We do not have a problem with you disagreeing with us.
If you would like to discuss an issue in a friendly debate, you are more than welcome and this forum was designed to do just that. If you browse through our website and find a teaching you disagree with, post your problem with it here and we will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
But please remember, you need to back up your beliefs with the Holy Scriptures. Any one can believe anything they want to. If you want to state your beliefs, but you have no scripture to back them up, chances are you will not get a reply. For instance if you believe there are little green men on Mars, who cares? That has absolutely nothing to do with the Holy Scriptures and this website is called Grace Bible Study. We discuss the Holy Scriptures here, not science fiction.
The Bible tells us in Titus 3:9,
9. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. |
So if you want to stick to the Holy Scriptures we will gladly accept your challenge and you will be most welcome here. Enjoy!
