The Adoption Part 1

The timing of the adoption of the One New Man has been debated for many years. Many refer to it as the rapture of the church, some believe it happens before the beginning of Daniel’s seventieth week, some believe it happens midway through the seventieth week and still some believe it takes place at the end of the seventieth week at the second coming of Christ.

In this article we will cover the adoption of the one new man and the resurrection of the church and compare the two and see the difference between the two. So let’s get started!

First of all the word rapture is not what the apostle Paul calls the catching away of the saints. He calls it the adoption. In Romans 8 he says,

“23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”

Paul calls the redemption of our body, “the adoption”. This is when we get our bodies redeemed and we get a new glorified body. Nevertheless, this event was coined the rapture and the name stuck, so we will use both terms throughout this article, “the Rapture” and “the Adoption” which will be describing the same event.

It seems to me that many people confuse the church with the One New Man that was inserted into the church. This is what causes the division on the timing of the rapture.

People look at this situation in several different ways. Here is your typical Acts 2 view of the church before the separation of Daniel’s 69th and 70th weeks:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/NoSeparation.jpg

If you notice in this chart we left out the separation between Daniel’s 69th and 70th weeks and put the rapture at the end of the 70th week. Your typical Acts 2 teaching is that the 69th week ended at the cross and the church started at the cross or Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit was given. The church will run through the 70th week and the rapture happens at the second coming of Christ.

They also teach that the church is the One New Man (the body of Christ) and that Jews and Gentiles can belong to this church.

But everyone knows that there is a gap between Daniel’s 69th and 70th weeks, so what we will do is go ahead and put that gap in place with this chart:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/Acts2Separation.jpg

Now it is very difficult for me to place the dispensation of grace for the Acts 2 belief for every time I ask an Acts 2 brother:

When was the dispensation of grace given to Paul to give to the Gentiles, when will it end and what is its purpose?

…I have never gotten a clear answer. Many say grace started with the cross, some say salvation was always by grace therefore the dispensation of grace was always there, and various other answers, but nothing cut and dry. So without a clear answer from any Acts 2 brethren so far, I have placed the dispensation of grace starting at the end of the 69th week and ran it all the way out to the second coming.

If you’re an Acts 2 brethren and you have a precise belief of when the dispensation of grace started, when it ends and what it’s purpose is, then please write to me and let me know and I will change the chart according to your specifications, for what I have here is just a guess from the bits and pieces of info I have collected over the years from my Acts 2 brethren.

As far as I can tell with the info I have collected so far, the Acts 2 position does not have any particular reason for what separated the 69th and 70th weeks.

Another view is that the dispensation of grace separates the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel’s prophecy, with the one new man given during the time of this dispensation of grace and it is separate from the church and it is it’s own church with the rapture taking place at the end of the dispensation of grace. Therefore they teach a kingdom church and a separate body church such as this chart indicates:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/2Churches.jpg

The problem with the two positions thus far is that the Acts 2 position takes the teaching of Peter and Paul and puts emphasis on the things they taught in common and stays away from the differences they had.

In contrast, the latter position puts emphasis on Peter and Paul’s differences and stays away from the things they had in common. This causes a major difference in the teaching.

But in all reality there is another view that needs to be considered and that view consists of the one new man being INSERTED into the church as this chart indicates:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/Inserted.jpg

This view is sort of a compromise between the first 2 views. It is very clear in the scripture that the church began before the one new man was given but it also very clear in the scriptures that there is only one church in the new testament scriptures.

It is also very clear in the holy scriptures that there will be a resurrection at the 2nd coming of Christ with fleshly bodies, but it is also very clear in the scriptures that there will be a changing of bodies and an ascending into heaven.

This confusion can be cleared up. As we go through the holy scriptures we will compare spiritual things with spiritual and Lord willing, come through to a better understanding of the holy scriptures.

Now here is the solution to the problem:

IF YOU CAN’T SEE WHEN THE ONE NEW MAN WAS GIVEN THEN IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SEE WHEN HE IS TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY.

So, with this being said we have to discuss when the one new man was given first before we can discuss when he’s taken out of the way. But before we do this, let’s discuss the church itself.

The Church

Let’s get this said and done with:

The Church is going through the tribulation or Daniel’s seventieth week, but the one new man does not.

This is where the mix-up comes in. There are scriptures for both the church and the one new man. The church was in place before the one new man was given and when the one new man is taken out of the way the church will continue.

Jesus was very clear on this when he talked about it. In Luke 21 it says,

“25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

Question: Who is Jesus talking to? The church. The church is going through the tribulation.
In Matthew 24 it says,

“15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:”

Question: Who is Jesus talking to? The church. The church is going through the tribulation.

Make no mistake about it, the church is going through the tribulation. This is why many believe that the one new man is the church and the one new man is going through the tribulation. They see no difference between the one new man and the church.

Now let’s go ahead and put this on a visual time chart:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/TimechartNCChurch.jpg

As you can see in the chart we left out the dispensation of grace and we have just the prophecy of Daniel’s seventy weeks to go by. The dispensation of grace interrupts Daniel’s seventy weeks and to demonstrate that the church is going through the tribulation we will leave the dispensation of grace out.

John the Baptist came offering the kingdom in the 480th year of Daniel’s prophecy, which is represented in orange. The new covenant church is represented in blue.

As you can see on the chart the church began around Acts 2. Some say it started at the cross. Whatever floats your boat. The starting point of the church is not that critical as long as you see that it did start. In Matthew 16 it says,

“18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

The Lord said, “…I WILL build my church…” This gives us a future tense of the church. He did NOT say, “…I am building my church…” which would give us the indication that he was already in the process of building it. So this shows us that it has not started yet, but in Acts 2 it says,

“47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

So we see here that the church has already started by Acts 2. So if you want to say it started at the cross or when the Holy Spirit was given doesn’t really matter to me as long as you see it started by Acts 2.

Now many people believe that the end of Daniel’s 69th week happened at the cross. This is not so. Jesus died on the 14th day of the first month of the 483rd year of Daniel’s prophecy at about 3:00 in the afternoon. This article will explain:

Daniel’s 69th Week

The church started in the first part of the 483rd year of Daniel’s prophecy and will continue through the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy all the way until the 490th year, then the church will go into the kingdom which is when their new covenant goes into effect. This chart visually shows us what Jesus said in the scriptures mentioned above. They will see the abomination of desolation and they will see the Lord coming back in the clouds to redeem them.

The church is definitely going through the tribulation.

But since many people believe that the one new man is the church rather than the one new man being inserted into the church, they believe the one new man will go through the tribulation thus they believe the dispensation of grace overlaps the 70th week.

Now we will add the dispensation of grace to this chart, but since it is taught that one new man and the church is the same, and the one new man is going through the 70th week we will let the dispensation of grace overlap the 70th week. Now some people teach that the rapture will happen right before the second coming. This chart represents that:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/Jim'schart.jpg

Some people teach that the dispensation of grace goes all the way to the second coming and that the rapture and the second coming are the same event. In this next chart it shows the rapture and the second coming happening at the same time with the dispensation of grace lasting until the second coming.

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/RaptureAt2nd.jpg

As you can see in this chart, instead of the dispensation of grace separating the 69th and 70th weeks the dispensation of grace starts at the end of the 69th week but overlaps the 70th week.

This is not possible.

The 70th week cannot resume until the dispensation of grace is over. During the dispensation of grace, Israel is blinded, cast away, Loammi and they will not become God’s people again until God lifts the blinders off of them and this will not happen until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in.

In Romans 11 it says,

“25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

When Stephen was stoned, Jesus stood up and judged Israel in unbelief and blinded all Israel except for the elect and cast them away and gave salvation unto the Gentiles.

Israel had to fall before this salvation could be offered to them. In verse 11 it says,

“11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.”

When Israel fell, God opened the door unto the Gentiles and he grafted the Gentiles into the good olive tree so that they could receive the new covenant salvation that was promised to only Israel. Thus he gave the dispensation of grace unto the Gentiles. During this time Israel is blinded and they are not God’s people. This is what stopped Daniel’s prophecy. In Daniel 9 it says,

“24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”

This is the time frame that God has for the nation of Israel. When God cast them away they were broken off of the good olive tree and they were blinded and they became not my people so Daniel’s prophecy stopped.

Daniel’s 70th week cannot resume until Israel is God’s people again. This will not take place until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. When the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, the blinders will be lifted off of Israel and they will become God’s people again and then the prophecy of the 70 weeks can resume.

The dispensation of grace and the 70th week do not overlap one another. The dispensation of grace separates the 69th and 70th weeks. The dispensation of grace is what caused the separation. Let’s look at this chart:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/images/Charts/TimechartOneNewMan.jpg

This chart shows the dispensation of grace separating the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel’s prophecy. During this time God is offering salvation by grace through faith without works, the Gentiles are grafted into the good olive tree and Israel is blinded except for the remnant. This is what caused the prophecy to stop.

When the dispensation of grace is over, which is the fullness of the Gentiles, Israel will once again be grafted back into the good olive tree and the Gentiles will be cut off. Israel will once again be God’s people again and the prophecy of the seventy weeks will resume.

Allowing the dispensation of grace to overlap the 70th week causes many problems. Today during the dispensation of grace we are saved by grace through faith not of works, but during the tribulation it will be quite different. In Matthew 25 it says,

“31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

These Gentiles that go through the tribulation that are the sheep and the goats will not be saved by grace through faith not of works as the Gentiles are during the dispensation of grace.

Now some people teach that salvation was always by grace through faith without works, but that is a different bible study altogether. For more information comparing these two teachings, please check out this article:

The Obedience of Abraham.

During the tribulation their works will be involved with their salvation just as Jesus said here. If they bless Israel, Jesus will let them into the kingdom and if they do not bless Israel they have eternal fire waiting for them.

It will not be, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Jesus tells them exactly what they have to do in order to be allowed into the kingdom. If they didn’t bless Israel, they are history.

So here is the problem, let’s put the dispensation of grace overlapping the 70th week, and the one new man goes into the tribulation. So here you are during Daniel's 70th week.

Question: What are you going to tell people to be saved?

Are you going to tell them,” You are saved by grace through faith without works or are you going to tell them they need to bless Israel?”

Let’s say you tell them that they are saved by grace without works. They don’t bless Israel. The Lord gathers us together and he separates the sheep and the goats.

Is that person going to be a sheep or a goat?

Jesus said,

Do you see the problem here? You cannot go around during the 70th week of Daniel and tell people that they are saved by grace without works when Christ will tell them something quite differently when he separates them.

Which leads us to another problem, there are people that teach we are going to go up with the Lord at the rapture at the second coming and come right back down again. But these sheep and goats will not have that done unto them. They will not have glorified bodies as the one new man will receive.

The church will not have their resurrection until the Lord comes back. In John 6 it says,

“39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

The resurrection at the last day was common knowledge to the Jews. In John 11 it says,

“24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

So this was common knowledge to the Jews. Where did they get this from? The old testament scriptures. In Ezekiel 37 it says,

“1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

If you notice in verse 11 this resurrection is for the house of Israel. It has nothing to do with the Gentiles. The old testament Gentiles will be resurrected after the 1000 year reign when the Lord pulls the souls out of the sea, death and hell.

In Daniel 12 it says,

“1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

So the old testament prophets told about the resurrection for Israel. It was to be an earthly resurrection with flesh and bones and it will take place at the end of the days as the Lord told Daniel,

“13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.”

Once again Jesus said,

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Question: The thief on the cross, did he see Jesus and believe on him? Yes.

And Jesus told him in Luke 23,

“43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

And where did Jesus go that day?

In Matthew 12 it says,

“40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

When Jesus died he went into the heart of the earth. He did not go into heaven. In John 20 after Jesus was raised from the dead he told Mary,

“17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.”

So when Jesus died he went into the heart of the earth and the thief on the cross went with him. They went into Abraham’s Bosom, which is called paradise.

Question: When will the thief on the cross be resurrected? At the last day just as Jesus said.

Question: When will the people in Abraham’s Bosom be resurrected? At the last day just as Jesus said and what was told Daniel.

There is a teaching out there that everyone in Abraham’s bosom ascended into heaven when Jesus died or ascended into heaven. This is not true. Israel’s resurrection will be at the last day, not before. In Acts 2 Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit and said,

“2 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,”

So if David did not go into heaven, neither did anyone else that is in Abraham’s Bosom. When will they be resurrected? At the last day as told by the prophets and the Lord Jesus Christ himself.

Once again there is a teaching out there that teaches that the people in Abraham’s Bosom went into heaven and they use this verse to try to prove that, in Ephesians 4 it says,

“8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

Leading captivity captive has absolutely nothing to do with Israel being resurrected into heaven. They were promised a resurrection to the earth, not into heaven. When the Lord led captivity captive this has to do with leading Israel into captivity. They became blinded, cast away and Loammi. This article will explain:

http://www.gracebiblestudy.net/AdvancedSeriesDoc/CaptivityCaptive.htm

The church is Jew only. God gave the one new man so that he could save the Gentiles and join the Jews and Gentiles together into one body. John the Baptist, Jesus and the Apostles were offering Israel the new covenant prophesied by Jeremiah the prophet. This new covenant was promised to the Jew only, not the Gentiles. In Jeremiah 31 it says,

“31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

This new covenant has absolutely nothing to do with the Gentiles. In Malachi 3 it says,

“1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”

In Matthew 11 Jesus quotes this verse and refers it to John the Baptist, so we know that John is the messenger of the new covenant. In Luke 21 it says,

“27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

Jesus taught that they would receive the redemption of their souls at the second coming of Christ. In Acts 3 Peter said,

“19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”

Peter taught the Jews that their sins would be blotted out at the second coming. In Romans 11 Paul said,

“26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”

Jesus said that they would receive their redemption at the second coming.

Peter said they would get their sins blotted out at the second coming.

Paul said they would get their forgiveness of sins at the second coming.

This is why the church is referred to as the new covenant church. They were waiting for the new covenant to get their sins blotted out.

THE CHURCH IS JEW ONLY!

THE ONE NEW MAN WAS GIVEN FOR JEW AND GENTILE!

In Ephesians 2 it says,

“11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain ONE NEW MAN, so making peace;

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”

God gave the one new man so that he could save the Gentiles and join them with the Jews. The Gentiles could not be partakers of the new covenant church without the one new man.

The one new man was inserted into the church but there are differences between the church and the one new man. One of these differences is the resurrection, which is the situation we are talking about here. So let’s see about the resurrection of the church. In Luke 13 it says,

“28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.”

Question:

Will Abraham, Issac, Jacob and the prophets be in the kingdom of God.

That’s a big yes.

Will Abraham, Issac, Jacob and the prophets be partakers of the new covenant as Peter and the Apostles?

Yes indeed.

As mentioned before, David nor anybody else in Abraham’s Bosom has ascended into heaven and they are not going to. They were promised an earthly resurrection with bodies of bones, muscles, flesh and skin as prophesied by Ezekiel the prophet and also promised to inherit the land.

They will not be receiving glorified, incorruptible, immortal bodies but rather bodies of flesh and bone.

So how will these bodies of flesh and bone live forever?

They will need to partake of the tree of life just as the Lord said to Adam and Eve in the garden.

Now let’s look at members of the church. In Revelation 2 the Lord is talking to the churches of Asia, which are Jewish churches and they are part of the new covenant church. These are not future churches but rather churches that existed in the past and John wrote the book of Revelation and sent it to them.

In verse 7 it says,

“7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”

Question:

Why will the church need to partake of the tree of life?

Because they will be receiving bodies of flesh and bone and in order to live forever, these bodies will need to partake of the tree of life. In Revelation 22 it says,

“14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”

Question:

These people that are living outside of the New Jerusalem, why will they need to partake of the tree of life?

Because they have bodies of flesh and bone which need to partake of the tree of life in order to live forever.

Now let‘s put this all together:

1. Abraham, Issac, Jacob and the prophets will be in the kingdom and they will be partakers of the new covenant. The church will be in the kingdom and they will be partakers of the new covenant.

2. Abraham, Issac, Jacob and the prophets will be raised on the last day. The church will be raised on the last day.

3. Abraham, Issac, Jacob and the prophets will be given bodies of flesh and bone just as the Lord told Ezekiel and will need to partake of the tree of life to live forever. The church will be given bodies of flesh and bone and will need to partake of the tree of life as the Lord told John.

This is the resurrection for the nation of Israel, which includes the new covenant church, which is Jew only.

The resurrection that Ezekiel described is the same resurrection as the church. It is Jew only. It is a resurrection to the earth. It is a resurrection of flesh and bone. This is the resurrection that was promised to Israel.

ISRAEL WILL NOT HAVE TWO SEPARATE RESURRECTIONS!

There will not be a resurrection of the church and a separate resurrection for Abraham’s Bosom. The new covenant was promised to all Israel and there will be one resurrection for them. Let’s look at this chart:

Here’s a few questions to think about:

When will Abraham, Issac, Jacob and the prophets be resurrected?

The last day.

When will the thief on the cross be resurrected?

The last day.

When will Peter and the apostles be resurrected?

The last day.

When will all of Israel be resurrected?

The last day.

What kind of bodies will they get?

Bodies of flesh and bone that will need to partake of the tree of life to live forever as told by the Lord to Ezekiel and John.

So with the scriptures we have covered so far it is very easy to see that the church will go through the tribulation and be resurrected with bodies of flesh and bone, given the redemption of their souls, have their sins blotted out and permanently forgiven at the second coming of Christ. This is the new covenant given to Israel.

Make no mistake about it, the church will go through Daniel’s 70th week. There are many, many scriptures to back this up.

Now let’s discuss the one new man.
